The idea, May 27th, 2008

Raphael, Nicola and Lars are three photographers who coincidentally met at the Hague University in the Netherlands. Initially drawn together by our common love for photography, we soon decided that we should attempt to use this passion to organize a bigger project devoted to our second passion, traveling.

The idea was simple: We would create a photo exhibition devoted to the spirit of traveling and seeing the world from an individual viewpoint. We looked at some of each other's pictures and projects we were working and and decided to create an exhibition that was not only showcasing photos but was also supposed to engage young people and make them want to go out and see the world…Movie|Mento was born.

What better place could there be than our very own The Hague University, a throughly open-minded and international place frequented by both locals and a significant percentage of international students? After explaining our vision to the university's cultural office and working out some of the details in a brochure, we recently recieved a confirmation that our project would be fully funded by the cultural fund "Haagse Kans". Currently, we are busy taking the steps to make our idea come to life. Check back soon for more details!
