On the outside, looking in.

How do you even tackle the last day after it has kind of been hanging over your head for a couple of months? When you arrive, you don’t really think about it until it suddenly creeps up on you and you find yourself with the question of where exactly the time went. 4 months are [...]

Last Day

A very strange feeling that my exchange is actually over. Its been a great couple of months, that amazingly ended on fantastic weather, good times and grilled bananas. My last day pretty much united all of those factors, and I don’t think it could have gotten much better than that. Here are some photo impression [...]

“Pa-pe-GA-IEN-dui-kers!”

The journey to the Shetland Islands from Glasgow is mind-numbingly long. You first take a bus to Aberdeen, which takes you roughly 3 and a half hours, then hop on a ferry that’ll carefully shake you around for another 14 hours. I am writing this because Geert and I went anyway. The reasons for going [...]

Botanic Gardens Station

Ever since setting foot into the Rochester subway, urban exploring has become one of my favorite pasttimes. Springtime for Scotland

It’s been a really amazing couple of days since my last entry- the long wait is over and Spring is finally here. My friends and I have been celebrating it with extended games of football in the sunshine, a glorious trip to the lovely (albeit empty) Buff club and lots of good food. As I [...]

To the Skye and beyond…

This is why events unnerve me, They find it all, a different story, Notice whom for wheels are turning, Turn again and turn towards this time… (New Order – Ceremony) Imagine this song blaring through our rental Ford Fiesta’s speakers, as we race along the windy roads of Northern Scotland, snow-covered mountains to both sides [...]

Loch Lomond Sampler

Alessandro and I took a one-day trip to Loch Lomond in the North of Glasgow and essentially biked along the golf courses and rich people hitting little white balls so long, that we decided to climb tree 799 (it had a number!) and remain there until the sun came out.

Arran

We had gone out on Friday night to spend some time in a cocktail bar somewhere in Glasgow’s west end. That night saw some good times with the amazing Italians (“Drinka!”) and some unpronounceable Irish people, but also not a whole lot of sleep. Consequently, when my alarm clock pounded me out of bed at [...]
